Music

Music and art go hand-in-hand. Cover art has always inspired me because I feel it gives a visual cue to the message the artist wants to deliver.

The album cover here is a photograph of an acrylic art piece which I lended my knowledge to help create. The artists gave me a call about an idea to have a liquid acrylic piece be their cover art for a new single. The idea totally excited me and we had a lot of fun creating it. They were inspired by an abstract bright pastel color palette. We all had a go with colors and executions. This one stood out to all of us and they were really happy with the results.

I attended a talk about graphic design in the music industry and became super inspired by screen-printed concert posters. Following that inspiration and curiousity I designed the Youth Lagoon concert poster using a limited color palette.

Redesign your Favorite Book Cover

I used a minimalist approach to redesign the cover of Eat, Pray, Love. The deep blue background signifies knowledge. The bright yellow makes for a distinct contrast against the blue. The sun rays capture the spirit of the book, along with symbolic sketches.

USA K9 “Tough as You”

During my advertising studies at college, a course allowed us to create an original campaign for a local client. This brand book demonstrates the culmination of all that goes into creating a campaign from start to finish including many multi-media execution ideas.

We started out with lots of research for our client. USA K9 is a local dog toy brand looking to reach new buyers and gain brand awareness. We searched and concepted for weeks to come up with an idea. After primary research, we identified our target audience and really understood the client. The idea sparked itself. The target audience is people with really big dogs who chew through just about anything with ease. This included a lot of veterans. Veterans are tough people, they have tough dogs, and they need a tough dog toy. That’s how we came up with the slogan: Tough As You. It’s something people can connect with, but even more-so with an ethos behind it.

With the judgment of the client and our professor, this project won over the client by a landslide!

Colorado Non-Profit Rebrand

This project re-brands a Colorado non-profit. The old branding omits all color. Where as the new branding brings in a variety of bright pastel shades. Included are a few different executions including a mural and merchandise.
